Cherished in myriad facets of everyday life in Kyoto, the culture and environment created by craftsmen engaged in traditional handwork produced a unique sense of beauty that has led to innovative art crafts by new artists whose vision extends beyond individual boundaries.
The KOUGEI NOW project was established to identify
innovative craftsmanship centering on future-oriented art crafts.
DIALOGUE is hosting a trade fair at Hotel Kanra Kyoto. The fair will showcase talented traditional artisans from throughout the country with the goal of providing opportunities to consider future art craft through a dialogue between art and its creators.
